PPR was a mindblowing experience.
Although all of us wish it was a bit longer or shorter depending on your class.
PPR is Placement Process Re-engineering is a course organized by the PES college. It's a course that aims to bridge the gap between a college education and industry requirements. I don't really know about that too much, but it sure rocks as a course that goes way-way beyond the syllabus.
Our Class, in the center is Mr. Vijayan and Mr. Jawahar.
For the C++ batch, the course was conducted by Mr. Vijayan. Mr Jawahar was the course co-ordinator. The course consisted of a series of modules, each of which dealt with a different aspect of the OO software development process. In addition, we also had PDP (Personality Development Program). Some people (notably Uttam) hated it - but I had a great time. These were fun classes that Mr. Bhagavan took for us - where he made us write book reviews, create presentations and the like. Basically soft skills and them done with a vengence.
Another shot of us, the batch
After we finished our course, a bunch of us were selected to be mentors for the next batch. I had that privilege - as it came with the all important benefit - I could sit through Mr. Vijayan's classes for another iteration. As a matter of history, PPR was the reason why I joined Yahoo. But that is another long and complicated story. For some other day, perhaps.
